Privacy Policy

Last updated 28 October 2026

This explains what personal information RacksBuy collects when you use our website, why we need it, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

RacksBuy is an online store based in Kumasi, Ghana. We are responsible for the personal information you give us when you use this website. We handle it in line with Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).

2. What we collect

We only collect what we need to run the store:

  • Your phone number, to sign you in with a one-time code. There are no passwords.
  • Your name and delivery details: region, town, address, landmark and any notes, so the rider can find you.
  • Your location at checkout, only if you allow it on your phone. We use it to see which delivery and payment options are available where you are and to help the rider. You can refuse and still order.
  • Your orders: what you bought, prices, any personalisation (such as a name on a jersey), payment status and delivery progress.
  • Reviews you write, shown with your name.
  • Alerts you turn on (price drops, back in stock) and, if you allow them, a phone notification subscription for this device.
  • Returns: the reason and notes you give, and the Mobile Money number for your refund.
  • Affiliates: your Mobile Money number for payouts, your share code and how many visits and orders your links bring.

We do not see or store your card details or Mobile Money PIN. Payments are handled by Paystack on their secure page.

3. Information kept on your device

Your cart, saved items, recently viewed products, products you're comparing and recent searches are stored in your own browser (local storage) so they work without signing in. They don't leave your phone until you place an order. We don't use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. Clearing your browser data removes them.

4. Cart reminders

When you're signed in, we also keep a note of what's in your cart (the products and how many, nothing else). If you leave items there for about a day without ordering, we send you one reminder through your notifications. We never text you about it. The note is deleted when you order or empty your cart.

5. Visitor statistics

To see which pages and products are popular and where the site can be improved, we count visits ourselves. It uses no cookies and doesn't identify you: we keep only daily totals, such as how many people viewed a page or added a product to their cart, which region and type of device they used, and which site they came from. Your browser remembers the date of your last visit so you're counted once a day.

6. How we use it

  • To process, deliver and support your orders, returns and refunds.
  • To send you order updates and the alerts you asked for, on the website, as phone notifications and by SMS.
  • To pay affiliates and work out commission.
  • To prevent fraud and abuse, for example limiting how often codes can be requested.
  • To meet our legal and tax obligations.

7. Who we share it with

We never sell your information. We share only what's needed with the services that run the store:

  • Google Firebase: sign-in and our database.
  • Vercel: hosts the website.
  • Paystack: takes card and Mobile Money payments.
  • Arkesel: sends our SMS messages and sign-in codes.
  • Our delivery riders: your name, phone number and delivery details for your order.
  • WhatsApp: only when you choose to message us there.

Some of these companies store data on servers outside Ghana. We use reputable providers that protect it. We may also share information if the law requires it.

8. How long we keep it

We keep your account and orders while you shop with us and for as long as we need them for accounting, tax and warranty or return questions. Our sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes and are deleted daily. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal details except what the law requires us to keep.

9. Your rights

Under Act 843 you can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
  • correct anything that's wrong (you can change your name yourself in your account);
  • delete your information, or stop sending you messages;
  • stop using your information for a particular purpose.

Contact us using the details below and we'll reply within 30 days. If you're not happy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.

10. Security

The site uses HTTPS everywhere. Your account is protected by one-time codes sent to your phone. Only you and our staff can see your orders, and payment details never touch our servers. No system is perfect, so please keep your phone and SIM secure and never share sign-in codes.

11. Children

The store is for adults. If you are under 18, please shop with a parent or guardian.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the store changes. The date at the top shows the latest version; important changes will be announced on the website.
